Are Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Selling Their 76 Crosby Street Penthouse?

By Jordan H • August 5th, 2010

Power couple Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos may be adding a final apartment sale to their 76 Crosby Street legacy.  In 2005 they sold one full-floor loft in the building and bought the large duplex penthouse for $9.5 million. After two-years of extensive renovations and taking on the Landmarks Preservation Commission, word on the street (well, in Curbed) has it that the apartment is worth between $15 and $20 million.

According to Jennifer Gould Keil of the Post it is “quietly on the market,” meaning there are no photos to offer, so this one above is from another apartment in the building. With residents and guests like Nicole Kidman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Gawker’s Nick Denton and Harvey Weinstein, it will be interesting to see who decides to move up to the penthouse this time.

Ripa explained a bit of the renovation to the Post in an interview:

“They [Landmark Preservation Commission] don’t allow barriers or any kind of structures that change the look of the outside. You can’t put just any permanent barriers up, so we did natural borders with strong trees around our house – all bamboo and hollies. When you are down on the street, it looks like a forest. When you look up, you would never know someone lives up there!”
